The CHRIST University Entrance Test is an institution-level test used for selected undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It is only one component of CHRIST’s programme-specific selection process. Depending on the course, applicants may also face a Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation, Personal Interview, audition or academic-performance review.

Do not confuse it with NTA’s Common University Entrance Test. Both may be called “CUET” informally, but the CHRIST test is conducted by CHRIST for its own programmes; NTA CUET is a separate national examination.

First identify the correct selection route

CHRIST programmes do not all use the same process. Official selection information shows routes such as:

  • Entrance Test + Micro Presentation + Personal Interview + academic performance;
  • Skill Assessment + Micro Presentation + Personal Interview + academic performance;
  • Micro Presentation + Personal Interview without an entrance test;
  • audition-based selection for specified performing-arts programmes;
  • programme-specific MBA or other professional selection stages.

The course page and selection-process notice—not the phrase “CHRIST entrance”—determine what a candidate must take.

Eligibility

Eligibility is programme-specific. UG applicants generally need 10+2 or equivalent, while PG applicants need the prescribed bachelor’s degree. Required subjects, aggregate marks and international-board equivalence vary by programme and campus.

Candidates awaiting qualifying results may apply where the programme permits, but must upload the academic records specified in the application. CHRIST warns that missing or unclear marks cards can make an application ineligible. An e-admit card does not prove final eligibility.

Test pattern

The verified UG programme-wise test pattern uses 120 marks. The official guidelines specify:

  • usual duration: 90 minutes, unless otherwise stated;
  • correct answer: +1;
  • incorrect answer: −0.25;
  • unanswered question: 0.

The sections change by programme. Examples from the official pattern include:

Programme groupTypical tested areas
BBA/iMBAEnglish, GK/current affairs, reasoning, Mathematics, data interpretation and programme-related aptitude
B.Com/BHMEnglish, GK, reasoning, accounting, Mathematics and data interpretation
Economics/BCA/Data ScienceEnglish, GK/current affairs, reasoning, Mathematics, data interpretation and Economics/Computer Science
Journalism/Liberal Arts/English/Political ScienceEnglish, GK/current affairs, reasoning and programme-specific knowledge
PsychologyEnglish, GK/current affairs, reasoning and Psychology
BA LL.B./BBA LL.B.English, GK/current affairs, reasoning and data interpretation
B.TechEnglish, GK, reasoning, data interpretation, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

PG entrance papers can be substantially different and subject-specific. Never prepare from another programme’s section table merely because both tests carry 120 marks.

Application process

1. Select the exact programme and campus on the official website.

2. Read its eligibility, fee structure and selection-process tabs.

3. Register through the official application portal.

4. Enter academic details and upload clear marks cards and required documents.

5. Choose the available selection date/venue when the portal permits.

6. Pay the application fee and save the confirmation.

7. Monitor application status; CHRIST may not send every process update by email or SMS.

8. Download the e-admit card shortly before the scheduled stage.

9. Attend every listed ET/SA/MP/PI/Audition component.

10. Check the final selection result through the application login.

Multiple selection sessions may be offered. A later session is not guaranteed for every programme or campus, and seats can change as admission progresses.

Online-test requirements

Where CHRIST conducts an online proctored test, official instructions require a computer/laptop with webcam and microphone, stable internet and power backup. The system may record audio/video and track prohibited navigation. Close other applications, keep the admit card and government photo ID ready, and follow the exact login time.

Notes, textbooks, formula sheets, calculators and unauthorised devices are prohibited where the test instructions say so. Impersonation, third-person prompting or suspicious behaviour can terminate the test and lead to a “Not Selected” decision.

Preparing for the written test

Start with the official programme-wise pattern. Divide preparation by marks, not generic coaching labels.

  • English: comprehension, grammar, vocabulary in context and sentence logic.
  • Current affairs/GK: national and international events, business, institutions, awards and programme-relevant developments.
  • Reasoning: series, arrangements, deduction, analogy and analytical decisions.
  • Mathematics/data interpretation: arithmetic, algebra, percentages, ratios, tables and charts at the level indicated by the programme.
  • Accounting/economics/psychology/media/computer science: revise the exact subject-specific component shown in the official table.

Take 90-minute mocks and calculate net marks after the one-fourth penalty. Practise the online interface and avoid random guessing.

Skill Assessment

Skill Assessment can be a written or practical task designed around the programme. Applicants should be ready to organise an answer quickly, write clearly, interpret a prompt and demonstrate course-relevant thinking. Some creative/performance programmes may use an audition instead.

Micro Presentation

Official selection pages describe a 90-second presentation on a topic given by the panel. A useful structure is:

1. define or frame the topic;

2. give two organised points with a concrete example;

3. acknowledge one counterpoint where relevant;

4. conclude clearly within time.

Practise unfamiliar social, economic, ethical, technology and programme-related topics aloud. The aim is coherent thinking and communication, not memorised speeches.

Personal Interview

Prepare to discuss:

  • why this programme and campus fit your goals;
  • subjects studied and academic strengths/weaknesses;
  • projects, extracurricular activities and achievements you can prove;
  • current developments connected to the programme;
  • what you understand about the curriculum and career path.

Answers should be specific and consistent with the application. Carry original academic records and identity documents when instructed.

Result and admission

CHRIST publishes the selection result through the applicant login according to the relevant schedule. Selection may be based on the complete process, not entrance-test marks alone. The university does not publish one universal cutoff covering every programme and campus.

After selection:

1. download the offer/selection communication;

2. pay the admission fee within the stated period;

3. complete document verification;

4. submit transfer/migration and final marks documents by the prescribed deadline;

5. verify campus, programme, fee and refund terms before confirming admission.

Campus and programme caution

CHRIST operates multiple campuses, and the same or similar programme title may have different availability or selection logistics. Always confirm the campus shown in the application and offer. A result for one application is not automatically transferable to another programme, date or campus.
